A spokesman for the Afghan government said on the same day that the early morning airstrikes by Pakistan on Kunar Province in eastern Afghanistan resulted in 9 deaths and 11 injuries. The Pakistani Ministry of Information and Broadcasting stated that the Pakistani military carried out precision airstrikes on two “terrorist camps” within Afghanistan. Preliminary reports indicate that the operation led to the death of 22 terrorists and the destruction of a large amount of weapons and ammunition. Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Afghan government, posted on social media that day saying that the Pakistani airstrikes on Kunar Province caused 9 deaths and 11 injuries, with “women and children among the deceased.” The Afghan government condemned this action, describing it as “aggression and a crime.”
