Swiss inflation rate rises to its highest level in two years, still within the central bank's target range

According to CoinMeta, Switzerland's inflation rate has risen to its highest level in two years, with consumer prices increasing by 1% year-on-year in September, in line with market expectations and higher than the 0.8% recorded in August. This figure is in line with the Swiss National Bank's forecast for that quarter and remains within the target range of 0%-2% set by policymakers. The Swiss Federal Statistics Office stated that rising oil prices and a weaker Swiss franc have exacerbated price pressures, but most of the acceleration in inflation is considered to be a temporary phenomenon. The core inflation rate, which excludes more volatile items such as energy, rose slightly from 0.4% to 0.5%, marking the second consecutive month of increase.
