According to CoinMeta, U.S. Federal Judge Amit Mehta dismissed two antitrust lawsuits filed by Chegg and Penske Media Corporation, the parent company of Rolling Stone (PMC), which accused Google of using its AI-driven search function to direct online traffic. In his ruling on Wednesday, Judge Mehta stated that the claims made by PMC and Chegg did not comply with antitrust laws. In the lawsuits filed last year, Chegg and PMC accused Google of abusing its monopoly power to force publishers to provide content for free in AI summaries, otherwise facing the risk of disappearing from search results.
