Ethereum zkapi goes live on the mainnet, launching privacy-protecting API payments
2026-10-02 11:47:18
According to CoinMeta, Ethereum’s zkapi system has now been launched on the mainnet, aimed at users. Users can deposit funds into an Ethereum vault and use zero-knowledge proofs to demonstrate that they have sufficient credit to make API requests without revealing their identity. A direct application of this system is to allow users to pay for AI services without linking their payment user identities. zkapi has also released a local client and software development toolkit, as well as a browser-based AI chat implementation.
