According to CoinMeta, Mary Barra, CEO of GM, stated that although the path to electric vehicle transformation is longer than expected, the goal remains unchanged. Since taking on the role at CEO in 2014, Barra has faced challenges such as global pandemics, tariffs, and supply chain disruptions, while also witnessing China's rise as a major electric vehicle powerhouse. Barra pointed out that changes in consumer habits are more stubborn than anticipated; although automakers once predicted that 40% to 50% of vehicles would be electric by 2030, the actual pace of achieving this goal has been much slower than expected. Barra emphasized that safety will be the top priority when introducing new technologies and promised that by 2028, GM will launch a Cadillac Escalade IQ capable of autonomous driving on highways.
