2026-10-02 21:33:45
According to CoinMeta, Tavus claims that its newly launched Griffin video call robot has passed the Turing Test, which has raised concerns that it may scam the elderly and cause mental illness. Tavus displayed a real conversation between Griffin and the company's founder, Hassaan Raza, in a tweet that received over 13 million views. The company's claim about passing the Turing Test has been tagged by the community on social media, with notes indicating that the results are “not independently verified” or not based on “standard protocols.” Griffin is the first model to pass the video Turing Test, and 48% of those who had real-time conversations with it believed it to be a real person. Tavus acknowledges that there may be security risks associated with Griffin's capabilities and states that “security considerations” need to be addressed before public release.
