CoinMeta data: The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics ( BLS ) has revised its employment growth figures for July and August downward by 60,000. The more optimistic figures before were one of the factors that led to the Federal Reserve's interest rate hike on September 16. The BLS report showed that employment growth in July was 21,000, but now it is shown as a loss of 10,000, while employment data for August has also been revised downward by 29,000. In its statement on September 16, the Federal Reserve claimed that "employment growth is keeping pace with the labor force, and there has been little change in the unemployment rate." However, this data revision has triggered expectations for future interest rate hikes, with 18 out of 16 members of the Federal Open Market Committee anticipating another rate hike before the end of the year.
