According to CoinMeta, the American Airlines Flight Attendants Union opposed this week's sale of data by Spirit Aviation to Google, stating that such a move could jeopardize aviation safety. The union pointed out that the sold data includes confidential employment and training information of over 700 pilots who have worked at Spirit, and that it could have an adverse effect on all commercial airlines. The union called on the court to reject the sale before the issue of pilot data privacy is resolved. Google stated that the sold data will be de-identified and does not contain customer or credit card information.
