SEC Chairman Paul Atkins: More crypto regulatory rules to be introduced to assist Trump in achieving the goal of becoming the 'Crypto Capital'
2026-10-05 06:10:26
According to CoinMeta, Chairman Paul Atkins stated that SEC will continue to advance the regulation of cryptocurrencies and digital securities and introduce more rules to ensure that the digital asset market remains in the United States. He pointed out that the regulatory framework for crypto asset custody proposed by SEC is aimed at updating rules established in 1940, which is part of a comprehensive crypto asset regulatory system that SEC plans to build starting in 2025. This system also includes Regulation Crypto Assets and Innovation Exemption; the latter will establish a five-year sandbox that will allow trading of U.S. stocks on decentralized exchanges and liquidity providers. John Reed Stark believes that this regulation goes beyond the authority of SEC and bypasses congressional power. Paul Atkins indicated that more regulatory proposals are forthcoming and that efforts will continue to assist President Trump in making the United States the global capital of cryptocurrencies.
