According to CoinMeta, the EU is considering imposing a corporate tax on large technology companies in order to avoid infuriating Trump. The EU plans to include tech giants such as Apple, Google, and Meta in a unified taxation regime for all large companies operating within the EU. The proposal, known as "European Corporate Tax," requires companies with an annual revenue of over 100 million euros to pay a fixed annual fee ranging from 100,000 to 750,000 euros. The European Commission is considering modifying this rule to apply to all companies operating within the EU. Although this move by the EU is aimed at increasing tax revenue, some European countries are cautious about directly imposing a digital tax, fearing that it could trigger retaliation from the United States.
