Europol: Some Bitcoin wallets have no quantum repair solutions

CoinMeta data: In a report released on Wednesday, the European Union's Criminal Police Organization (Europol) pointed out that some Bitcoin wallets do not have quantum computing mitigation solutions, and future quantum computers may be able to crack the private keys that protect cryptocurrency wallets. For those Bitcoin wallets whose public keys are already visible, Europol indicates that there is no encryption mitigation solution. The organization rejected the claim that quantum computing will lead to the collapse of cryptocurrencies, warning that the impact is mainly targeted at individual holders, rather than the entire network. The report states that each Bitcoin wallet is based on a pair of linked codes; anyone can see the public key, while the private key is required to authorize transactions. Powerful quantum computers could potentially derive the private key from the public key, allowing attackers to transfer funds. The report also mentioned that the number of exposed Bitcoins has reached 6.04 million, accounting for 30.2% of all issued coins. At the current Bitcoin price of around $83,050, this portion of assets is valued at approximately $502 billion. Most of the exposed Bitcoins were revealed through reused addresses and exchange wallets.
