According to CoinMeta, cryptography researcher Justin Drake suggests that large holders transfer their funds to new addresses that have never been used for transactions and whose public keys are still hidden behind hashes, and recommends transferring any remaining funds to these new addresses after each transaction signature. He believes that ECDSA could potentially be cracked by classical algorithms before the advent of quantum computing Q-Day, with the worst-case scenario occurring within a few months. Binance, Bitbank, Robinhood, Bitfinex, and Tether could be reinforced to make them more secure for cold storage.
