According to CoinMeta, the U.S. Treasury Department has withdrawn two long-pending proposals related to financial crime enforcement networks (FinCEN) targeting unhosted cryptocurrency wallets and hybrid services that deal with both cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies. The wallet proposal originally required reporting and record-keeping for transactions exceeding $3,000 and $10,000, while the hybrid service proposal sought to expand reporting requirements for transactions that may involve foreign cryptocurrency mixers. This withdrawal officially concludes the rule-making process for both proposals.
