2026-10-09 02:36:32
According to CoinMeta, and as announced by the Greek Ministry of Finance, the government has launched a public consultation process regarding a new tax legislation for crypto assets. It is proposed to levy a 10% tax on capital gains generated from the sale of crypto assets by individuals, with an exemption for annual earnings not exceeding 500 euros. Exchanges between crypto assets are not currently subject to capital gain taxation. In addition, profits derived from staking (staking), lending, and providing liquidity will be taxed at a rate of 10% as interest income. Investors who voluntarily declare their previous crypto asset transaction earnings within 12 months after the law is published may be exempted from fines and interest charges, provided they meet the applicable criteria.
