Ethereum Sepolia Test Network Increases Block Limit to Nearly 200 Million
2026-10-09 10:40:15
According to CoinMeta, Ethereum’s testnet, which uses the identifier Sepolia, activated an upgrade on October 6th that increased the block limit from Glamsterdam to nearly 200 million blocks per day, surpassing Ethereum’s mainnet limit of 60 million blocks. This increase in the block limit is aimed at managing network traffic and helping to maintain stable transaction fees during times of high demand. Although the block limit has been raised, it does not necessarily mean an increase in the number of transactions; rather, it is designed to provide more processing capacity when demand increases.
