According to CoinMeta, as reported by Fortune, the investment boom in artificial intelligence is comparable to the investment prosperity that followed China's accession to the World Trade Organization. According to estimates by research firm Gartner, global AI expenditures are expected to exceed $2 trillion this year. Large American corporations such as Microsoft, Amazon, Google's parent company Alphabet, Meta, and Oracle are projected to spend about $800 billion on capital expenditures in 2026, with an annual growth rate of 83%. Over the next decade, hardware AI capital investments (including chips, data centers, power, cooling, and networks) are expected to reach $10 trillion to $15 trillion. The broader AI expenditures, including software, services, and products driven by AI, could total nearly $30 trillion over the decade. The scale of investment in AI is already on par with China's investment boom during 2000-2010 and may even be greater.
