CoinMeta data: Ledger indicates that a Southeast Asian distributor, Cryptobilis, is involved in a theft of over $86 million. Reports show that users who purchased wallets from this distributor have lost more than $80 million. Analysts Specter and Tanuki42 were the first to notice reports of user funds being lost and traced the relevant addresses, estimating the loss to be between $72 million and $86 million. Ledger subsequently confirmed that they are investigating specific issues related to Cryptobilis and has requested them to pause all sales and deliveries of Ledger devices. Users who purchased devices from Cryptobilis within the past 90 days are advised not to initiate settings; if they have already set them up, they need to transfer their assets to new Ledger signers. Security researcher Taylor Monahan warns that multiple reports of wallet thefts shared by different accounts may cause panic, leading users to mistakenly assume that there is a zero-day vulnerability.
