CZ: It is recommended to implement a "quarantine" period for new hardware wallets
2026-10-10 01:37:34
According to CoinMeta, and as reported by U.Today, Binance founder Zhao Changpeng ( CZ) has called on crypto investors to implement a strict "isolation" period for new hardware wallets. This warning was issued after an incident in Southeast Asia where users lost over $86 million due to attacks on local Ledger distributors. CZ suggests that after purchasing devices or downloading software, users should avoid immediately transferring large amounts of assets to new addresses, and the wallets should remain unused for at least a few weeks. During this time, investors should closely monitor relevant news to prevent potential hacker attacks. CZ emphasizes that self-storing digital assets always comes with additional responsibilities, and users should be wary of the risk of physical devices being tampered with during delivery.
