BlackRock: The energy shock will leave a lasting scar on the European economy
2026-10-27 18:45:36
According to CoinMeta, strategists at BlackRock stated that the significant increase in energy prices triggered by the conflict between the United States and Iran will have a lasting negative impact on the European economy, but it may be beneficial for energy infrastructure companies. The strategists pointed out that the buffers that absorbed the first round of energy shocks earlier this year are weakening, and Europe is particularly vulnerable to these impacts. Rising energy prices have caused European GDP to fall by 0.5% below its level before the price increases. They said that infrastructure that can withstand future energy shocks will increasingly be favored by the market, thus bringing more investment opportunities. In addition, after rising bond yields dragged down stock prices, U.S. and European utility stocks also appear quite attractive at present.
