Russian crude oil exports drop to a five-week low, refineries may resume production or cut external supplies

According to CoinMeta, Russian crude oil exports have dropped to their lowest level in five weeks. Maritime transport data shows that within the four-week period ending October 25, Russian exports of crude oil by sea decreased slightly to 3.55 million barrels per day, which is 30,000 barrels less than in the four-week period ending October 18. Nevertheless, export volumes have rebounded in the most recent week, with 12 oil tankers departing from the Primorsk port near Saint Petersburg last week, compared to only 4 the week before. Recently, there has been a reduction in attacks on Russian refineries by Kiev, allowing Moscow to increase refining capacity, which may have led to some of the crude oil that was originally intended for export being diverted to supply domestic refineries. There were no reports of attacks on Russian refining facilities within the seven days ending October 25. Meanwhile, Russia, Ukraine, and the United States are pushing to initiate trilateral talks.
