According to CoinMeta, Turkish Energy Minister Fatih Dönmez stated on Tuesday that Turkey may reach agreements regarding acquisitions or further oil and gas exploration by the end of the year in order to achieve the goal of producing 1 million barrels of oil and natural gas per day. Currently, Turkey's oil and gas production capacity is 300,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, and it is expected to increase to 550,000 to 600,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2028. To meet the goal of 1 million barrels per day, Turkey's current production needs to more than triple. Dönmez mentioned that Turkey is looking overseas, including regions such as Africa and Lebanon, to bridge this gap, and is also exploring the possibility of conducting electricity trade with Lebanon.
