According to CoinMeta, on October 26, the U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Utah and its Attorney General, accusing the state of using gambling laws to target federally regulated prediction markets. The indictment claims that Utah's law enforcement actions threaten the federal regulatory authority over these exchanges. Utah had previously sued Kalshi and two other entities on October 20, accusing them of charging fees ranging from 30.6 million to 61.2 million dollars. Utah is now the 10th state to take such action.
