IAEA: No signs of repairs at Iranian nuclear facilities, but the status of nuclear materials remains unverifiable

According to CoinMeta, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, stated that since June 2025, the agency has not observed any signs that Iran has attempted to repair or rebuild its nuclear facilities that were attacked in 2025 and 2026. This assessment is consistent with previous testimony by the former US Director of National Intelligence, Dina Pasquale Tursi-Gabard, who claimed that Iran's uranium enrichment program was severely damaged during the US-Israeli attacks in June 2025, and that no efforts to rebuild its enrichment capabilities have been detected since then. Grossi's statement undermines the claim made by the Trump administration that launching a new round of war against Iran at the end of February 2026 was necessary to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons. Trump has repeatedly indicated that he is considering attacking Iran again after the US mid-term elections, and although the US government has repeatedly claimed to have destroyed Iran's nuclear facilities, it has provided almost no evidence to support this claim. However, since Iran continues to restrict access for inspectors to most of its nuclear facilities, the IAEA is unable to verify the current status of Iran's nuclear materials, including the previously declared 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to up to 60%, nor can it confirm whether there has been any unreported transfer of nuclear materials.
