According to CoinMeta, as reported by Decrypt, AI, a cloud service provider specializing in Akamai, launched a sandbox environment with AI proxies on Tuesday. This is a closed environment where code written by the proxies can run without affecting the company's other systems. Although the scale of this launch is small, the issues behind it cannot be underestimated. Software is no longer just used to answer questions; it can log into accounts, write code, transfer funds, and act autonomously, and these capabilities could be misused by hackers or the software itself. This is known as proxy AI, which is gradually taking over the internet. A 2026 survey of 2,930 security leaders by Palo Alto Networks found that on average, each human corresponds to 109 machine identities, 79 of which are AI proxies. Proxy AI brings many benefits, but there are also serious risks, especially when these proxies have too much freedom or are intelligent enough to bypass their own limitations.
