Danish Bank: French fiscal risks weaken ECB's interest rate hike expectations, euro may weaken further

According to CoinMeta, an analyst from Danske Bank, Jesper Fjarstedt, stated in a report that due to concerns regarding France's fiscal situation, there is still room for the euro to fall further. Currently, the euro has dropped to a 17-month low against the US dollar. He pointed out that markets have begun to doubt the necessity of the European Central Bank (ECB) raising interest rates in the near term, which is in sharp contrast to September when markets were almost certain that the ECB would raise rates at its meeting the following day. Markets expect the ECB to keep interest rates unchanged on Thursday, and expectations for a rate hike in December have also dropped to less than 80%. Danske Bank still expects the ECB to raise rates in December, but believes that this round of tightening cycle will end by then. If this judgment is correct, then current market pricing for the ECB's policy rate in a year from now is about 45 basis points higher.
