CAAM Branch: Expected domestic retail growth to be in the range of 0%-5% in 2027

According to CoinMeta, the association predicts that in 2027, the domestic retail growth range will be between 0% and 5%, with an average of 2%. As short-term shock factors reverse and cost pressures ease, as well as the product quality on the supply side improves, if there are no unexpected changes in policies and the environment, the domestic car market is expected to bottom out and begin to recover. The significant decline in the car market in 2026 was the result of a combination of short-term factors such as policy overdrawn effects, oil price shocks, AI cost overruns, and low consumer willingness. The domestic retail sales volume of 18.5 million vehicles in 2026 is considered an abnormally low level. In 2027, the carryover effect of vehicle purchase taxes, the Spring Festival season, a correction in oil prices, and a decline in lithium carbonate prices are expected to contribute to a dual recovery in demand and costs. A reduction in inventory clearance efforts and the restoration of the new vehicle supply cycle will provide support for the car market to bottom out and start to recover.
