Nasdaq 100 Index Goes on Chain: What Do JQQQ Holders Actually Own?
2026-10-28 19:09:02
CoinMeta data: Janus Henderson and Centrifuge have launched a fund related to the NASDAQ 100 index on Stellar, transforming a licensed equity benchmark into a blockchain-native investment product. JQQQ represents shares in an isolated portfolio located in the British Virgin Islands and is only available to qualified investors outside of the United States. Holders gain indirect exposure to the economy through this fund, rather than directly owning the stocks of the index companies or having unrestricted rights to trade them at any time. The shares of this fund appear to be just as easy to transfer in digital wallets as other tokens, but the governance rights extend beyond the scope of the wallet address. Investors must meet the issuance requirements, managers must manage the portfolio, and the legal documents of the fund determine how holders can subscribe for, transfer, and redeem the shares.
