European natural gas prices break through 100 euros per megawatt-hour
2026-10-28 19:48:31
CoinMeta data: According to a report by Caixin on October 28th, European natural gas benchmark futures rebounded from a brief decline on the previous trading day, with a maximum increase of 3.7%, breaking through 99 euros per megawatt-hour for the first time since the end of 2022. Market concerns about an escalation of the Iran conflict potentially tightening global natural gas supply, coupled with low inventories in Europe and rising heating demand in the Northern Hemisphere, have jointly driven recent price increases. Sources said that the United States has informed several Persian Gulf countries to prepare for a short but intense military operation after the mid-term elections, and oil prices have also risen accordingly.
