Turkey warns Russia and Ukraine not to further attack Black Sea vessels
2026-10-28 22:05:30
According to CoinMeta, on Wednesday, the Turkish Minister of Defense warned Russia and Ukraine not to continue attacking merchant ships in the Black Sea, stating that Turkey reserves the right to take legal action against such attacks. This represents Turkey's most direct intervention to date. As a member of NATO, Turkey has maintained good relations with both Moscow and Kiev since the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian war in 2022. Turkey has repeatedly called on both sides to stop attacking in the Black Sea, as these attacks also affect merchant ships flying the Turkish flag or owned by Turkey. Ankara said it is currently awaiting a response from Russia and Ukraine to a proposal aimed at stopping the increasingly frequent attacks and ensuring the safety of food transportation in the region.
