Fed Statement from the October 28 Meeting: Maintains Interest Rates at 3.75%-4%
2026-10-29 03:25:39
According to CoinMeta, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) of the United States held a meeting on October 28th and decided to maintain the federal funds rate target range at 3.75%-4% in order to support the Fed's dual mandate. The meeting noted that U.S. economic activity is expanding strongly, and despite geopolitical uncertainties, domestic spending remains resilient. Productivity and capital investment are both performing well, employment growth is keeping pace with the labor force, and the unemployment rate has not changed significantly. Inflation remains high, and the committee will continue to monitor additional information to ensure that inflation returns to the 2% target. Lisa Cook and Beth Harker voted against this policy action; they advocated for an increase in interest rates by 25 basis points.
