According to CoinMeta, Wu said that South Korea's second-largest cryptocurrency exchange bithumb issued a detailed report disclosing that its internal collaborative office system daouoffice was subjected to unauthorized external access for about one hour on the morning of October 27th. A total of 6,444 customers' personal information was illegally accessed, including names, mobile phone numbers, ID card numbers, driver's license numbers, bank card numbers, and copies of identification documents, among other sensitive information. bithumb emphasized that the compromised collaborative system is completely physically isolated from the exchange's main trading infrastructure and asset database, and that customer trading services as well as underlying asset data were not affected. bithumb also apologized to its customers and stated that it will bear full responsibility for any economic losses incurred as a result of this incident.
