According to CoinMeta, today's U.S. economic data shows that the GDP grew by 3.4% in the third quarter, which is the fastest growth rate in a year. The PCE inflation rate rose to 3.6%, and the core inflation rate reached 3.1%, both in line with expectations. Personal income increased by 0.2%, but real disposable income decreased by 0.3%. Consumer spending, adjusted for inflation, stagnated, and goods purchases fell by 0.3%. The savings rate dropped from 4.0% to 3.8%. The number of people applying for unemployment benefits decreased to 194,000, the lowest level in over three years. Strong economic growth and reduced layoffs mean that the Federal Reserve can maintain high interest rates to combat inflation, but declining purchasing power and stagnant spending indicate that household momentum has weakened as we enter the fourth quarter.
