The Polish prosecution stated that the court in Katowice has approved pre-trial detention for Roman Ż. He is accused of participating in organized crime and misappropriating client funds through computer fraud.

The prosecution stated that the relevant gang is suspected of transferring at least 7.8 million Zloty, which is approximately 2 million US dollars, from exchange users. The charges also include tampering with exchange data and interfering with data processing and transmission processes.

The case continues to expand.

The investigation has extended to involve multiple suspects. Last week, three additional individuals were also detained for three months. The prosecution claims that the case is related to attempts to take control of the assets of Zondacrypto founder Sylwester Suszek.

The exchange once froze withdrawals.

Zondacrypto was initially established in Katowice under the name of BitBay. Later, in 2020, it moved to Estonia and changed its name. The company claimed to have 1.3 million customers, most of whom were from Poland.

The prosecution also stated that in October 2025, nearly 8 million euros were transferred from the operator's account to purchase property in France. Additionally, a loan of 2.9 million euros was recorded as repaid, but in fact, it was not returned.
