Raytheon, a subsidiary of RTX, has secured a multi-year contract worth up to $20.7 billion. Under the “Arsenal of Freedom” program of the U.S. Department of War, Raytheon will accelerate the production of AMRAAM ® missiles to record levels.

This contract is valid for a period of five years, with an additional two-year option. Raytheon is a business division of RTX (New York Stock Exchange ticker: RTX).

This contract continues the milestone agreement announced earlier this year by Raytheon with the U.S. Department of War. The agreement supports AMRAAM to achieve a minimum annual production of 1,900 missiles.

President Phil Jasper stated: "The AMRAAM remains the most reliable and combat-proven air superiority weapon for the United States and its allies, providing beyond-visual-range kill capabilities thanks to its advanced guidance systems and electronic protection. We continue to make substantial investments in employees, technology, supply chains, and facilities to rapidly expand production capacity and meet the growing demands from the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and international partners."

According to RTX, in recent years, the company has made significant investments to increase the production of AMRAAM and other key munitions, with production in 2025 expected to be nearly double that of 2024. RTX also collaborates closely with hundreds of small and medium-sized suppliers across the United States and is exploring international joint production to rapidly expand output and meet long-term combat needs.

AMRAAM has currently evolved to its fifth generation and can be used on 14 platforms, deployed in 44 countries. It has completed over 7,000 successful launches during testing and actual combat scenarios. This missile has been upgraded with advanced processors that support flexible software updates, enabling it to stay ahead of current and future threats. It serves not only as the primary interceptor weapon for air-to-air missions but also as the main interceptor missile for the NASAMS ® air defense system.

A Clever RSA Attack Outwitted a Hardware Safe – What Does This Mean for the Crypto Industry?
Researchers from the University of California, San Diego, and a French INRIA institution forged the signatures of 1,024-bit RSA keys within a hardware security module without extracting the keys themselves. They used approximately 4 billion signature requests and around 1,380 CPU core years of processing power. The study was specifically focused on RSA and did not involve the elliptic curve signatures used by Bitcoin or Ethereum. The authors stated that this does not pose an immediate threat to most modern, padded RSA implementations.
