San Francisco, September 29, 2026 / PRNewswire / -- Industrial Growth Partners ( IGP ) has completed the transaction previously announced, selling Prince & Izant, LLC to TransDigm Group Incorporated ( NYSE : TDG ), for a transaction amount of 1.066 billion US dollars. The transaction was settled on September 28, 2026.
Prince & Izant is headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a leading provider of vertically integrated specialty material solutions, serving critical mission applications in multiple end markets. The company was founded in 1927 and designs and manufactures highly engineered brazing alloys for precious and non-precious metals, precious metal components, as well as composite metal solutions. These products are used in end markets such as aerospace and defense, medical, power generation, HVAC, transportation, and industry, where the cost of failure can be high.
In June 2022, IGP, together with members of the management team, selling shareholders, and some external investors, carried out a capital restructuring of Prince & Izant. Subsequently, IGP worked closely with the management to develop and implement a strategic growth plan that focused on strengthening the company's leadership and organizational capabilities, expanding the product portfolio and market coverage, and investing in manufacturing capacity. Key measures included expanding the executive team, undertaking construction projects, developing new products and global sales resources, enhancing vertical integration capabilities, as well as investing in manufacturing capacity and automation.
The company also completed three strategic strengthening acquisitions, namely Clad Metal Specialties (in 2025), Kay & Associates (in 2023), and Peltier Manufacturing (in 2022), which further expanded its product technology and applications. IGP indicates that driven by these measures, during the period of their ownership, the EBITDA of Prince & Izant more than doubled in size, and the profit margin significantly increased. At the same time, the company's presence in attractive end markets such as aerospace and defense, healthcare, power generation, and data center infrastructure was also significantly enhanced. IGP states that these investments collectively transformed Prince & Izant into a larger and more diversified special materials platform, further solidifying its market leadership position.
Prince & Izant CEO Matt Brandenburg stated: " IGP is an outstanding partner who has provided resources, industrial expertise, and strategic guidance, enabling us to accelerate growth, expand our capabilities, and better serve our customers. We have jointly invested in new products, recruited key talents, and completed several acquisitions, thereby strengthening our platform in the most attractive end markets. I am immensely proud of the achievements made by the team during our collaboration with IGP, and I am also full of anticipation for future opportunities. We believe that now, as part of TransDigm, Prince & Izant are well-prepared for the next phase of growth."
Managing Partner Dave DiFranco added, " Prince and Izant are precisely the kind of enterprises IGP hopes to collaborate with: market leaders with differentiated, mission-critical products, deep technical expertise, and led by world-class management teams. During the collaboration, we worked side by side with Matt and its team to significantly expand the company's scale, broaden its capabilities, and deepen its presence in some of the most attractive and critical end markets in the industrial economy, including aerospace and defense, healthcare, power generation, and data center infrastructure. Today, Prince and Izant have become a much larger enterprise with even greater strategic value. We are very proud of the achievements made by Matt and the entire Prince and Izant team, and we believe that TransDigm will be an outstanding partner for the company's next phase of growth."
