News from the IT community on September 30: The EU regulatory agency based in Brussels has been delaying a unified EU vote regarding Tesla's FSD (supervised version), while another member state has officially permitted the implementation of this technology in accordance with its own national regulations.

The latest authorization comes from the Adriatic coast. Tesla's official accounts for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on the X platform have announced this progress, confirming that the FSD (supervised version) has been approved in Croatia and will soon begin to be rolled out.

Croatia has become the eighth European country to approve the use of FSD (Supervised Version). Reports indicate that with one more country joining, Tesla's assisted driving technology will gain independent usage permits from a third of the EU member states before any proposal for widespread implementation within the EU is discussed. This is also the third regional approval this month, following Czechia and Slovenia.

Leveraging the regulatory exemption framework established earlier this spring by the Dutch Vehicle Administration ( RDW ), Tesla is bringing the FSD (supervised version) to car owners in Central and Northern Europe who have been waiting for this feature for many years.

With Croatia's accession, there are now a total of eight European countries that officially permit the use of FSD (Supervised Version) on their roads:

• Netherlands
• Lithuania
• Estonia
• Denmark
• Belgium
• Slovenia
• Czech Republic
• Croatia

Reports indicate that Tesla is actively communicating with Irish regulatory authorities in an effort to get Ireland added to the approved list, with this Emerald Isle nation expected to become the ninth country to be authorized. Italy has also engaged in in-depth discussions with Tesla regarding the approval of FSD (Supervised Version).

As for the unified licensing within the EU, Brussels has postponed the voting period for full implementation across the EU from October 6th to a later date, with the earliest possible vote not taking place until December.

The pace of localization in various countries is much faster than the timeline set by the European Union at a central level. Reports indicate that regardless of when the final voting begins, for Tesla to succeed in the voting, it will need to obtain the qualified majority support of at least 15 countries.

It is worth noting that some member states have also attempted to obstruct the implementation of fully autonomous driving with supervision. Sweden has urged the European Union to reject this feature, arguing that it may contribute to speeding issues; France has expressed similar concerns as well.

With the addition of Croatia, the total number of global enabled markets for FSD (Supervised Version) has reached 16, with half of them located in Europe.
