Arcus Investment Management, a company under Kathy Wood, conducted a series of significant transactions on Tuesday, involving multiple tech stocks such as NVIDIA, Tesla, and AMD. These transactions reflect Ark's strategic layout amidst market volatility and related company dynamics.
NVIDIA Transactions
Ark purchased a large number of NVIDIA shares through its various ETF accounts, including ARK Innovation ETF ( ARKK ), ARK Autonomous Technology & Robotics ETF ( ARKQ ), ARK Next Generation Technology ETF ( ARKW ), and ARK Space & Defense Innovation ETF ( ARKX ). In total, 356,681 shares were bought. Calculated at the closing price of $227.21, these shares are worth approximately 81 million US dollars.
This move comes after NVIDIA announced a $150 billion stock repurchase plan, which was positively received by market experts. The repurchase is seen as a strong signal of the company's confidence in its future performance, further boosting NVIDIA's stock price.
Tesla Trading
Ark increased its holdings in Tesla, purchasing 48,352 shares through its ARKK fund. Calculated at Tesla's closing price of $352.84, this investment is worth approximately $17.1 million.
This increase in holdings comes at a time when Tesla's stock price has been declining recently; the decline in stock price is mainly attributed to JPMorgan Chase lowering its target price for the stock, as well as concerns in the market regarding the upcoming production and delivery data. The stock price of this electric vehicle company, led by Elon Musk, has fallen by 7.13% over the past five trading days.
SpaceX Transaction
Ark purchased 9,112 shares of SpaceX through its subsidiary ARKQ fund; based on a closing price of $149.24, the investment amount is approximately $1.4 million.
After the "Starship" ( Starship ) successfully completed its orbital flight and received a positive rating from TD Cowen (with a target price set at $200), the stock price of SpaceX also rose accordingly. This investment reflects Ark's confidence in the future growth prospects of SpaceX, especially in the potential of its artificial intelligence ( AI ) computing power leasing business.
The development momentum of SpaceX has also been fueled by its various strategic initiatives; it is expected that these initiatives will significantly boost the company's financial performance in the coming quarters.
Broadcom Transaction
Ark made a large-scale purchase of Broadcom stocks, acquiring 76,263 shares through ARKK and ARKW. Calculated at the closing price of $355.10, this investment is worth approximately 27.1 million US dollars.
Airbnb Transaction
Ark increased its holdings of Airbnb shares by 26,940 through its subsidiary ARKF fund; based on a closing price of $156.96, the total investment amount is approximately $4.2 million.
Airbnb is expanding its artificial intelligence strategy, aiming to improve operational efficiency and reduce the need for meetings; the company's CEO, Brian Chesky ( Brian Chesky ), elaborated on this strategy at the Skift Global Forum.
AMD Transaction
Ark Invest reduced its holdings in AMD, involving multiple funds such as ARKK, ARKQ, ARKW, and ARKX, with a total of 181,767 shares sold. Calculated at the closing price of $607.57 per share of AMD, the total amount involved in this reduction is approximately $110.4 million. Nevertheless, AMD remains an important participant in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), with its portfolio of technical products continuously expanding and its market position very solid.
Alphabet Stock Trading
Ark's subsidiaries, ARKQ and ARKX, sold a total of 4,910 shares of Alphabet A class stocks; calculated at the closing price of $340.92, this batch of stocks is worth approximately $1.7 million.
Alphabet has raised objections to the EU's directives regarding artificial intelligence competition and data sharing, which has put pressure on its stock price. Despite these challenges, Alphabet remains a dominant force in the technology industry.
