Five years after its establishment, GMI Cloud, which provides enterprise customers with servers equipped with NVIDIA chips, announced on Wednesday that it had completed a financing round of $668 million in equity and debt. This financing round indicates that NVIDIA continues to support emerging small and medium-sized cloud service providers, with a focus on those companies that can contribute to the development of NVIDIA's business from multiple dimensions.
GMI, whose full name is General Machine Intelligence (Generalized Machine Intelligence), is one of seven cloud providers that have built their computing power centers in full compliance with NVIDIA standards. These providers adopt NVIDIA's complete hardware and software stack solutions. The company has also joined a new computing power cooperation project with NVIDIA AI: NVIDIA provides credit support for the establishment of new computing power bases, and in return, it will receive a share of the revenue generated from the cloud services derived from these bases in the future.
In this round of financing, $223 million in equity financing was led by the newly established AI and robotics investment firm ARCHIV, with NVIDIA also participating as a follow-on investor. The company did not disclose its valuation, but stated that its annualized revenue from contracts exceeds $600 million.
The newly raised funds will help GMI Cloud expand its AI computing power in the United States and Asia.
