According to a report by Reuters on Thursday, financial services giant Citigroup (C) raised its outlook for Bitcoin and Ethereum due to the resumption of capital inflows into exchange-traded funds ( ETF ) and the support provided by the macroeconomic environment.

According to a report cited by reports on Wednesday, Citibank raised its 12-month forecast for Bitcoin from $82,000 to $113,000, and increased its target price for Ethereum from $2,240 to $3,028.

Calculated at the current price, this target means that Bitcoin and Ethereum still have approximately 35% and 12% room for growth respectively.

Citi expects that as advisory firms and securities brokers gradually increase their allocation of Bitcoin, the inflow of funds into products such as ETF will grow slowly but steadily, with the scale of capital inflows reaching $5 billion over the next 12 months.

As of July 13, the net outflow of spot Bitcoin ETF in the United States amounted to $5.8 billion for the year. However, this trend has reversed in the following months, and as of the end of September, the net inflow for 2026 had reached $800 million.

Although the U.S. Senate was unable to make progress on the Clarity Act in mid-January, Citibank stated that a subsequent rule announcement by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) alleviated the negative sentiment in the market.

After the Senate vetoed Clarity Act on September 15, the cryptocurrency market showed resilience, and by the end of September, Bitcoin had gained more than 10%.

Citi also mentioned that the U.S. Treasury's efforts to repurchase long-term government bonds have reignited momentum across the crypto market and helped the market emerge from a slump that lasted for several months, during which its performance lagged behind that of other risk assets.
