Sandsky, Ohio, October 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Civista Bancshares, Inc. (Nasdaq ticker: CIVB, hereinafter referred to as “Civista”) announced the appointment of Mark J Sams as Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer. Sams will also serve as a member of the executive leadership teams for Civista Bancshares and Civista Bank.

Sams is responsible for fund management, wealth management, private banking, healthcare solutions, and other strategic growth projects. Since being promoted to Senior Vice President and Senior Revenue Officer in January 2026, he has been leading these business areas.

Civista Bank President and CEO Chuck Parcher stated: "The leadership of Mark is at the core of our growth strategy. He possesses both credit discipline and market experience, which are exactly the management capabilities that our bank hopes to utilize to lead these business lines."

The company stated that Sams has over 25 years of experience in the banking industry, with a professional background covering areas such as commercial banking, credit management, business development, risk management, and executive leadership. He joined United Community Bank in 2014 as the Chief Credit Officer; after Civista acquired UCB in 2018, he joined Civista Bank and was appointed as the Market Director for the southeastern region of Cincinnati, Indiana.

Sams graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He currently serves as the secretary for the Civista charitable foundation, as well as the treasurer for Dearborn Community Development Company.
