The company stated that this investment is expected to create up to 300 high-skilled jobs over the next four years, involving AI, technical consulting, and design engineering. This lab also reflects Kyndryl's long-term commitment to the digital future of the United States, as well as its support for promoting innovation, workforce development, and customer interaction.

The AI Innovation Lab located in Dallas, Kyndryl, will focus on helping customers modernize their technical environments for AI. The latest modernization research findings indicate that 34% of organizations are leveraging modernization to enable AI capabilities, making it a stronger driving factor for modernization than cost reduction (29%). The study also reveals that AI is driving growth in demand for cloud, hosting, network, and edge environments, which further demonstrates that modernization is not just about retiring old systems; it is the foundation for enabling AI on a large scale.
The laboratory will adopt a repeatable approach to combine the company's Agentic AI Framework, Kyndryl Consult, and AI services, infrastructure, and engineering expertise, as well as the Kyndryl Vital design-driven transformation practices. Through an immersive four-stage process—customer immersion, co-creation design, construction, and roadmap development—the customer will work together with Kyndryl experts to address business challenges that AI can have a measurable impact on. Both parties will jointly validate ideas, design future workflows, and rapidly progress from exploratory use cases to functional prototypes within a few days, establishing a clear path from prototype to production. This will help the customer deploy AI-driven workflows on a large scale across their entire business.

- Building a talent pipeline for AI: Kyndryl is collaborating with NPower, Dallas AI, Tech Titans, and other local organizations to expand access to skills in AI and emerging technologies, create new career paths, and at the same time enhance the innovation ecosystem in that region.
