There are KB5124010 issues, and some users have reported that playing multiple MP3 files simultaneously may trigger a crash in the system's audio decoding component msmpeg2ac3dec.dll.
As previously reported by IT, on September 23, Microsoft released a optional update KB5124010 for the Windows 1124H2 and 25H2 systems. After installation, the version numbers of these systems increased to 26100.9550 and 26200.9550 respectively.
According to feedback from multiple Windows users in the community, after installing the optional update in September, some software crashed when playing multiple MP3 files simultaneously.
Some netizens found during their analysis that the point of crash was related to the Windows system component and msmpeg2ac3dec.dll. This file is located in the System32 and SysWOW64 directories.
The report states that msmpeg2ac3dec.dll is not present on all Windows devices. If the system was initially installed with Windows 11 22H2 and subsequently upgraded gradually, the file will be retained; however, if a fresh installation of 24H2 or 25H2 is performed along with updates, this file will not be present, but the phone client can still operate normally.

Affected scenarios include older games such as `SimCity 4` and `Fallout : New Vegas`. Discussions related to `Reddit` indicate that this issue is related to audio processing, and the malfunction can cause `Fallout : New Vegas` to fail to run properly.
Compatibility issues have also arisen in corporate environments. A company using the innovaphone telephone system and the myApps client reported that its software-based telephone client crashed due to the same problem.
