News from the IT community on October 5th: Square Enix announced that its cross-platform game "Final Fantasy 7: Eternal Crisis" will officially cease operations on October 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM Beijing time. Once all procedures related to the service termination are completed, players' account information will be deleted to protect users' personal data.

Public information indicates that "Final Fantasy 7: Eternal Crisis" was launched by Square Enix and AppLibot. It became available on Apple's App Store and Google's Google Play on September 7, 2023, and a Steam version was released on December 6 of the same year.

This work is positioned as a chapter-based remake collection set in the “FF7 Universe.” Players will not only be able to relive the classic storyline of the original Final Fantasy 7 and Crisis Core, but also experience a brand-new original chapter titled “The First Warrior” written by Ichiroノジマ. This chapter delves into the little-known past of the young Safiros and the origins of his heroism.

This game claims to blend retro and modern styles; map exploration uses a model that pays tribute to the original Q version from 1997, while combat switches to high-definition, realistic graphics comparable to those of the FF7 Remastered Edition. The gameplay continues the classic ATB dynamic time combat mechanism, retains the combination of magic crystals and ultimate moves, and also offers automatic combat and multiplayer co-op features.

Saudi Aramco warns of "alarmingly low" global crude oil inventories
Saudi Aramco's CEO, Amin Nasser, stated that global crude oil and refined products inventories are "scarily low," and it may take up to two years to replenish these stocks. He mentioned that since the war between the US, Israel, and Iran began in February, about 3 billion barrels of supply have disappeared, and over 1 billion barrels of inventory have been used up. Although crude oil flows from the Middle East have returned to about 98% of pre-war levels, the market's resilience remains weak, with Brent oil prices at around $102.30 per barrel.

However, these products are not yet tradable, and issuers still need to wait for SEC to announce that the registration statements have taken effect. The article points out that these funds hold regulated futures linked to Bitcoin and Ethereum, rather than actual tokens, and are more suitable for short-term traders rather than long-term investors.
