Coinbase introduces USDC into Samsung Wallet, covering over 82 million Galaxy users
Coinbase has reached a cooperation with Samsung to directly connect USD Coin ( USDC ) to Samsung Wallet. This move will provide over 82 million American Galaxy users with access to USDC channels.
Relevant features will be launched in the last week of October 2026, and USDC will also become the first stablecoin natively supported by this wallet.
USDC will directly proceed to Samsung Wallet.
On October 8, 2026, Coinbase announced this new collaboration, stating that it represents the next step in their ongoing deepening of partnership with Samsung.
The two companies had previously added Samsung Pay to the payment options of Coinbase. Subsequently, through Samsung Wallet, they provided Coinbase One membership benefits to over 82 million Galaxy users in the United States, further expanding their collaboration.
Now, Coinbase will provide support for the stablecoin usage experience within Samsung Wallet. When users top up their stablecoin balances, USDC will become the default US dollar-stabilized coin.
Through this integration, Coinbase hopes to reach over 82 million Galaxy users in the United States.
Coinbase will be responsible for the custody of USDC.
This collaboration also introduces the hosting system of Coinbase into that wallet. Coinbase will hold USDC stored in Samsung Wallet through Coinbase Prime, and will use it to obtain a hosting service recognized by the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS).
The hosting system also operates in conjunction with Bastion. According to reports, Bastion is a licensed stablecoin hosting and infrastructure provider that is regulated by US financial authorities.
USDC is designed to maintain a 1:1 value to the US dollar and is backed by cash and short-term US Treasury bonds.
Coinbase indicates that in 2025, the circulation of USDC will grow by 72%, exceeding 75 billion US dollars; the number of wallets holding USDC will increase by 59%, approaching 7 million.
Samsung Wallet Added USDC payment function
This integration will enable Samsung Wallet to have the payment capabilities of USDC. Users will be able to directly send USDC to contacts via their mobile phones, without having to enter lengthy wallet addresses.
In terms of offline store payments, both companies stated that users can use USDC for contactless payments. Coinbase will convert USDC into the local currency of the merchant's region during the payment process.
Currently, this feature will be launched first in the United States during the last week of October 2026.
