NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated that if customers are developing insecure artificial intelligence software, he would cease supplying chips to them. However, he believes there is no need to worry too much about this technology at present.

In an interview with Bloomberg Emily Chang in London, when asked whether they would stop supplying products to irresponsible developers, Jensen Huang stated: "This is a hypothetical question, but the answer is yes. However, before doing so, there would be communication involved. We don't operate other people's companies, and our ability to judge how other companies use our technology is also limited. Our technology is of a general nature."

NVIDIA is the main supplier of AI accelerators, which are used for training and running AI models. This has placed the company at the center of a debate regarding whether AI software poses a risk of becoming too powerful and out of human control. Industry executives such as the CEO of Anthropic PBC, Dario Amodei, and others suggest that the entire industry should slow down its development pace to address these concerns.

As the company is about to hold an event in Berlin, Jensen Huang is visiting various locations in Europe. He stated that concerns regarding the security of AI are one of the growing pains encountered by this rapidly expanding industry. He believes that AI software can be controlled and deployed securely.

"Many young companies are going through the pains of growth, and they are developing at an astonishing speed," said Jensen Huang. "Starting a company comes with accountability and responsibility, and they are gradually adapting to these demands."

He said that some of the current concerns are "self-inflicted," and that the entire industry has done "very poorly" at explaining the benefits brought by this new technology.

Jensen Huang added that AI itself can be used to protect and help control this technology.

"We should accelerate the integration of this control technology into the AI system," he said, "We need to speed up the development of monitoring technologies, and AI is such a monitoring tool. Therefore, we should expedite the advancement of AI technology as well."
