News from the IT community on October 14th: Apple has today pushed out an update to the iOS / iPadOS 27.2 developer preview version Beta 4 to users of iPhone and iPad. The internal version number is 24B5110a. This update comes 7 days after the last release of Beta / RC.

In the update log, Apple did not provide a detailed description of the main contents of this update, only stating that the new preview version would include new features. Today, Apple also simultaneously launched the third public beta version of iOS 27.2.

Devices registered with Apple Developer Program can upgrade to iOS version 27 through "Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Version Update"; iPad can also be obtained through the corresponding iPadOS developer Beta channel.

Apple expects that iOS 27.2 will be officially released later in October; since HomePod and mini 2, which will be available on October 30th, require HomePod and software 27.2, the official version is likely to be launched before that time.

Beta version is mainly used for developers to test application compatibility and pre-release features. Ordinary users are advised to wait for the official version unless they have testing needs.
