IGEL Appoints a Leading Figure in the Field of Zero Trust in the United States, Randy Resnick, to Advance the IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform Strategy
This senior individual, who has held senior cybersecurity positions at the U.S. Department of Defense and the National Security Agency, possesses nearly 40 years of experience in technical leadership and task execution. They will drive the development of IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform ™ ( IASEP ™) in areas such as continuous validation, network resilience, artificial intelligence, and multi-framework governance, targeting global governments and key industry clients.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, October 15, 2026 / PRNewswire / — Global software company IGEL ® announced today that renowned zero-trust leader and architect Randy Resnick has joined IGEL as the Chief Technology Officer for Government and Critical Industries.
IGEL indicates that Resnick has nearly 40 years of experience in technical leadership, cybersecurity, and project management at the U.S. Department of Defense ( DoD ) and the National Security Agency ( NSA ). Recently, he has served as a senior advisor to the U.S. Department of Defense and the director of the Zero Trust Portfolio Management Office, leading the development, coordination, and implementation of zero trust strategies in one of the largest and most complex technical environments globally.
According to the introduction, he is one of the original authors of the U.S. Department of Defense's Zero Trust strategy and has been involved in establishing the Zero Trust reference architecture, maturity model, innovation labs, and independent assessment methods for that department as well as the national security system. His work has helped to transform Zero Trust from a theoretical concept into an executable national defense strategy. Prior to this, Resnick worked at NSA for over 34 years, holding various senior technical leadership positions, including Chief of Zero Trust Projects Strategy, Director of Cybersecurity Innovation, Director of Information Assurance Engineering, and as the first head of the NSA Red Team. He has received honors such as the Wash100 award in 2024 and the title of one of the 50 "Cybersecurity Visionaries" in 2024.
IGEL CEO Klaus Oestermann stated: " Randy enjoys an international reputation for its leadership in the field of zero trust, but what is particularly important for IGEL customers and partners is his ability to translate transformative cybersecurity concepts from strategy and architecture into project development and operational implementation. The combination of technical vision, leadership, and execution is perfectly suited for IGEL Adaptive Secure Endpoint Platform to move onto the next stage of market adoption."
Linking the National Security Framework to Critical Commercial Infrastructure
IGEL indicates that Resnick has shifted from a leadership position in the zero-trust strategy in the defense sector to the commercial software field, reflecting the market's clear approval of the IGEL platformization approach. IGEL is currently developing IASEP ™ to meet the needs of enterprise edge scenarios – where IT, operational technology, cloud, applications, containers, open-source technology, artificial intelligence, and users intersect. This platform combines the control plane, data plane, and execution plane, enabling organizations to implement policies, establish trusted execution, and generate governance evidence for different workloads.
The company stated that Resnick will help to expand these capabilities, transforming the national security framework directly into a combat-proven architecture for use in critical commercial infrastructure and government departments, including financial services, healthcare, transportation, energy, and utilities. His scope of responsibilities will also cover international markets, including NATO countries, the "Five Eyes" alliance countries, as well as Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and the Middle East region.
Resnick signifies: “IASEP™ gives us the opportunity to apply these experiences in a broader and more secure manner to the edge of enterprises, integrating trust, resilience, and governance into IT, operational technologies, and emerging workloads, and to build an architecture that organizations can easily deploy at their own scale.”
IGEL, Senior Vice President of the Public Sector and Key Industries and Chief Technical Officer on Site, John Walsh added, "Over the years, I got to know him through his work at NSA for Randy. Later, I also witnessed his leadership in formulating and implementing the Zero Trust strategy for the U.S. Department of Defense. I have full confidence in his technical leadership, project discipline, and his ability to transform transformative ideas into large-scale operational capabilities."
Expanding the architecture within the ecosystem
IGEL indicates that the responsibilities of Resnick will include close collaboration with customers, as well as with the product, engineering, partners, and marketing teams of IGEL. The goal is to transform the needs of governments and key industries into replicable platform capabilities. This work will also be integrated into the IGEL Ready ecosystem, combining IASEP ™ with technical partners in areas such as chips, identity management, networking, SASE / SSE, cloud, virtualization, and artificial intelligence. The company states that this will support more complex security and operational outcomes, covering aspects ranging from identity management, segmentation, and connectivity compliance, to workload isolation, context-based policies, observability, resilience, and governance.
