News from the IT community on October 17th: Technology media Windows Latest reported that Mikhail Parashin, who previously served as the head of Microsoft's Windows and Bing departments, posted on the X platform today (October 17th), publicly criticizing the taskbar experience of Windows's 11.26H2 version, describing it as "not yet usable."

Parashin is known for its expertise in search engines, advertising technology, cloud computing, and consumer-grade AI products. He worked at Microsoft from 2007 to 2014 and has been in charge of Bing multimedia search since 2009.

After serving as the director of Yandex from 2014 to 2019, he returned to Microsoft from 2019 to 2024, where he was appointed as vice president of the company. He later rose to become in charge of Microsoft's Advertising and Online Services division, overseeing Bing, Microsoft Advertising, and Windows businesses. Since August 2024, he has held the position of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Shopify.

Parashin said, "I finally installed the Windows 26H2 update. I've been looking forward to the return of the taskbar on the left, but the result is disappointing. The auto-hide function doesn't work, and I can't adjust its size either, so I still can't use it at the moment."

He also directly named Pawan Dharwadri, the current Windows of Microsoft, hoping to improve this feature as soon as possible. At the time of publishing this article from IT, Dharwadri had not yet made a public response to the related tweets.
