Getac Technology Corporation ( Getac ) announces the launch of a new generation of B360X and B360X Pro fully rugged laptops, designed to provide powerful edge AI performance for frontline professionals working in harsh environments with frequent internet disruptions.
These two new devices build upon the popular B360 series from Getac. They offer upgraded processing power, a larger 14-inch screen, enhanced security, and a comprehensive range of connectivity options in a compact and portable design. The company states that these features make them particularly suitable for frontline professionals in industries such as public safety, utilities, manufacturing, and defense, enabling them to perform complex tasks in a variety of field scenarios.
Stronger edge AI performance
The core of the new B360X and B360X Pro models is the Intel Core Ultra 5/7/ X7 processor (third generation), paired with Intel graphics cards and Intel AI Boost technology. According to Getac, this configuration can provide excellent performance for multitasking, data-intensive workloads, and AI enhanced applications, and it can still operate even without a cloud connection.
The company stated that this will help frontline professionals to process data locally on the edge, make on-the-spot decisions more quickly, and handle sensitive information in a more secure manner.
Both devices are equipped with a 14-inch WUXGA LumiBond display screen, utilizing Getac sunlight-readable technology that provides a brightness of 1,400 nits to enhance readability and usability. The capacitive touch screen can still be operated even when wearing gloves or in rainy conditions.
Greater flexibility, connectivity, and security
To meet the diverse needs of on-site use, B360X and B360X Pro offer a variety of connection options. They come standard with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, and can also be optionally equipped with dedicated GPS that supports L1 / L5, as well as 4G LTE and 5G Sub-6 and SA if required. Customers can also choose different I/O interface configurations, and are capable of being equipped with up to two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C interfaces for high-speed data transmission; the dual-battery hot-swappable design allows for extended on-site usage time and reduces the need for frequent charging.
Both products are also equipped with enhanced security features, including a Windows Hello camera implemented through a 5MP front-facing camera, TPM 2.0, an intelligent card reader, a user-replaceable PCIe NVMe SSD, and a standard Getac Disk Wipe. Optional upgrades include a second SSD, which can achieve a total storage capacity of 4TB with up to two 2TB hard drives, as well as a HF RFID card reader and a fingerprint reader.
Full and robust protection
Like all Getac fully robust devices, B360X and B360X Pro can operate stably in harsh working environments. Both products have been certified by MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-461G, and IP66 and are capable of withstanding drops from a height of 6 feet (1.8 meters) during use, allowing them to function normally in many scenarios where other devices would not be suitable. If necessary, salt spray certification is also available as an option.
B360X Pro: Task-level computing power in a compact body
In addition to the above configurations, the B360X Pro comes standard with a dual-high-capacity battery, and can also be optioned with the NVIDIA RTX PRO 500 or Blackwell independent graphics card controller to further enhance graphical performance without affecting processing power. The B360X Pro also offers an optional media expansion bay that can accommodate a third battery or a DVD drive as needed.
The ideal companion device for professionals in extreme environments
Getac indicates that B360X and B360X Pro combine powerful edge AI computing, full robust reliability, and a portable design, making it suitable for professionals who often work in extreme environments and in scenarios where a stable internet connection is not available:
- Public Safety and Emergency Rescue: In disaster areas where communication is completely interrupted, B360X can integrate computer-aided dispatching (CAD), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and automatic vehicle positioning (AVL) through advanced edge computing software to become an independent tactical command center.
- Military and National Defense: In locations without internet access, B360X Pro can operate high-load military training and simulation platforms, utilizing edge AI computing to generate virtual enemy behavior logic and tactical simulation models.
- Public Utilities and Industrial Manufacturing: In signal dead zones such as remote transmission towers, underground pipelines, or complex factory areas, B360X can smoothly execute CAD software and 3D modeling processes locally, for precise asset installation and complex maintenance operations.
