New York, October 22nd / PRNewswire / -- Online investment platform Webull (Nasdaq ticker: BULL) announced today that it will introduce extended trading hours for options on certain individual stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), allowing eligible U.S. customers to manage their positions more flexibly outside of regular trading hours.
Extended trading hours for options will allow customers to trade eligible options during the pre-market period from 7:30 AM to 9:25 AM and the post-market period from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM Eastern Time. By extending trading hours beyond the regular trading period, Webull provides option traders with more opportunities to open or close positions after the release of financial reports and other news that may affect the market.
Webull, President of the Group and CEO of the United States, Anthony Denier stated: "As the market continues to evolve, significant company news often occurs outside of traditional trading hours. Investors need tools that reflect the reality of today's market environment. Expanding options trading to pre-market and post-market hours is a natural step in the evolution of our platform, which will provide traders with greater flexibility to manage their positions and respond to new information as it emerges."
The initial launch will cover some individual stock options, including Apple ( AAPL ), Amazon ( AMZN ), NVIDIA ( NVDA ), Tesla ( TSLA ), and other actively traded assets; it also includes options linked to the following ETF: SPDR S &P 500, ETF Trust ( SPY ), Invesco QQQ Trust ( QQQ ), iShares , Russell 2000, ETF ( IWM ), SPDR Gold Shares ( GLD ), and Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund ( XLF ).
The tradable range will vary depending on the underlying asset and contract. For those assets that have been traded by 4:15 p.m. Eastern Time during regular trading hours, an additional after-hours trading window will not be available.
Trading during extended hours is now available for certain individual stocks and ETF options. The availability of extended trading hours for certain index options, as well as in more markets, is expected to expand over time.
